Working Mum
My first day at work on Monday began with mixed feelings of excitement, nervousness, anxiety and a tinge of sadness to say, `so long' to my little attachment. We have spent pretty much everyday together since birth, so an extended day without her would feel a bit strange. Daddy daycare was at home till Nanny arrived so really nothing to fear. So with iPod in hand, my Prada bag and novel I strolled across the road to catch the ferry to town. Felt good to be free to read, listen to music and sit on the ferry to cruise in to work. With a short stroll through the city to work I was amongst it, meeting new faces and acquainting myself with my new work place (for 2-3days/week). Nothing like taking on a 24/7 role of Mum-dom for a year to make regular work seem like time out ;-) And of course the best part of my day is being able to come home to see my little darling and hear all about her fun day with Nanny. Nanny has started singing recital of nursery rhymes, tennis coaching (hitting a sponge ball hanging from the change table with a plastic bat) as well as doing lengths up and down the balcony.
This week we started orientation for our one day/week at kindy starting in March. After just one hour, we were both beat. So, walked home for a well needed nap. The nursery leader and staff seem organised, cool and calm considering they have responsibility for 8 bubs under 15months. Glad Hana is only there for one day to start with. That way we can all ease in to the change and hopefully curb exposure to those nasty bugs (seems to have already caught one).
