Annual White family ski holiday - Queenstown, NZ

We were met at 4.30am by Pop White taking us to the Airport to fly to Sydney to meet the rest of the crew. Looking more like the Griswald's from National Lampoons with the 9 of us coverging on the International Airport with 5 sets of skis/boards, boots, bags, prams and 2 little ones in toe. We were off for our, Holiday road oh oh oh ohhhh, holiday road, oh oh oh ohhhhh....

After a full day of travelling, we made it to our abode, #8 Stoneridge Road. Perched high on the hill with panoramic views of the mountains and lake, stylishly decked out with heated floors, chef's style kitchen, indoor spa we had made it!

Day 1 The Remarkables
Heading up to the Remarkables with Sarah and the Brothers we were welcomed by a sunny clear blue day with crisp white fluffy stuff. Unbelievably warm day with fellow skiers strutting their stuff in singlets (serious) we had a great first day on the Mountain. Sarah made a striking debut on the beginners run bumping down to level 1 and rearing to take on the nextdays challenge.

Day 2 Coronet Peak
Inspired by day 1's conditions, we were keen to get the little people up to the Mountain and for Abbie to make her return to the slopes post-baby. With butterflies in her tummy, Mama Abz put in some fine form as we headed down the mountain with the boys. Nanny B and Sarah had the babies sleep and wake patterns perfectly in sync making for a pretty painless babysit session.
Stepping out gingerly on to the snow for the first time, Hana was intrigued by the cold, wet slippery stuff that Mummy and Daddy kept throwing at her ;-) Here she is enjoying a snowboard tabogan ride down the hill with us which soon led to Daddy sending her down solo with us both running to catch the run away babe on a board!

Day 3 Coronet Peak
Back for more, we hit the road a little later in the day allowing time to ski a freshly groomed run in the afternoon.
To celebrate another cracker day on the slope + Nath's belated 30th,thanks to Nanny B the six of us headed out for dinner at Solera Vino, a local french restaurant. Fine wine, and some delicious well earned meals (highlight James's venison, mushroom blackcurrant pie) we enjoyed the usual banter and conversation. Followed by a trip to our favorite wine bar where the boys proceeded to spend up big on top shelf reds (the girlz cue to call it a night).
Their efforts had later come back to bite them when they woke with sore heads, a missed day of skiing and to top it off babysitting duties as us girls headed in to town. Like something out of the movie, `Shopaholic' we hit the store Maxx with a vengence fighting over dresses and buying up big!
Day 5 The Remarkables
Back to the slopes for more action as Sarah did her first ski run with the rest of us there for encouragement. Go Sarah, you're sooooo hardcore!!

Day 6 Ohau
Boys did a drive up to Ohau for a bonding session while the girls stayed in town.
Mama Abz and I did a body balance class in town stretching our tired muscles. Then all the girls and bubs had lunch in town and hot chocolate and truffles at Patagonia - yumm!

Boy this blog has taken me a week to complete, but I can't finish without mentioning the great time we've had. With two beautiful additions to the family we have all truly had the most wonderful time together. Hana and Henry have received so much love and attention from all the family, it's going to be a sad transition to go back to life as usual. But, gives us all more reason to look forward to our next installment. hugs and kisses you all xoxo
